And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord , but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. 1 Kings 19:11, 12
He often brings a hard painful storm so that we will listen and then in the calm and still afterwards he deals tenderly with his loved ones.

It’s a trap!
Today I thought about how people want to be wanted above all. At least, I know I do. I want certain ones to pay attention to me, to notice me, to “LOVEEE MEE”. But if I truly cared for them I wouldn’t want them to pay too much attention to me cause, hell… It’s a trap! If they spent as much if their time on me as I do on them we’d all be equally miserable and broken. I don’t want that for them just as much as I hate it for me!
If I cared, I’d be saying “look at the one who’s actually worth noticing and won’t leave you empty and let down”. Man, if only I could do the same with my life, heart, attention, and values.
